Job Description Summary

As related customer equipment, faciliaties or infrastructure projects: responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Update Outage Developed Schedules, consulting with TFA and Site leads and provide modification recommendations in line with project scope and budget

  • Apply project control standards and accurately assign budgets to planned outage activities through consulting with TFA and other site representatives

  • Support Job Cost Estimate (JCE) development and budgeting activities as necessary by analyzing historical data, utilizing previous project experience, and applying to current project activities

  • Develop Resource Loaded Schedules aligned with the Job Cost Estimates

  • Use defined tools necessary to manage budget and project forecast goals

  • Ensure project set-up in Primavera is aligned to business needs

  • Prepare schedule to be submitted to customers in tendering stage

  • Establish a Project Controls operating rhythm for each outage and deliver timely and accurate progress reports

  • Coordinate with relevant site personnel, ensuring project hours are accurately billed to appropriate project activities and physical progress has been captured adequately and in line with forecasted goals

  • Analyze outage cost on daily basis with focus Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) and Estimate at Completion (EAC), and recommend budget improvements to stay in line with project costs

  • Issue Outage Planning Update (OPU) twice a week at minimum

  • Ensure all outage project hours, purchase orders, receipts and invoices are correctly allocated to accounting system and reconciled to site data as part of close out process

  • Track site progress in Steam Power tools (Outage Assistant)

  • Ensure budget tacking against Purchase Orders or Subcontracts

  • Develop recovery schedules for delayed project in coordination with the site team to bring the cost and schedule back on track

  • Support CSL on tracking Extra works/ Change Order Claims

  • Reconcile invoices from subcontractors and 3rd party suppliers with cost data from the field (timesheets, goods receipts, etc.)

  • Generate final Cost and Schedule reporting

  • Assist CSL with close out activities as required

  • Maintain historical data from Projects and provide Benchmarking support to Project Teams as needed

  • Active participation on project planning, execution and closing activities

  • Actively participate on daily outage calls with site team

  • Travel may be required

  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our Steam Power vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of demonstrated Project Controls experience in Power or Oil and Gas Projects

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power Point)

  • Ability to deliver project reports within time constraints and quickly pivot in response to evolving priorities

  • Understand Project Controls and Earned Value Management

  • Comfortable working with all levels and functions in a constructive fashion to achieve responsibilities and goals required

  • Previous Experience with Primavera P6 Software

  • Data Analytical Skills, Problem Solving and Report Writing

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

  • English proficiency required

Desired Characteristics

  • Field Experience and knowledge of Operations & Maintenance Field Work Practices

  • Proficient in data visualization (converting raw data into useful metrics/charts

  • Proficient in SAP

  • Ability to implement standard and consistent Project Controls processes and develop ad hoc project specific reporting methods as required

  • Affiliation to a Cost Engineering Professional Network is a plus (e.g. AACE)

  • Affiliation to a Planning, Project Controls, or Project Management Professional Network is a plus (e.g. Project Management Institute)

  • Additional language(s) spoken is a plus

  • Continually seeking new functional knowledge and looking to build technical expertise
