VP Customer and Business Insights Oncology

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, (Vice President Customer and Business Insights Oncology), are to:

  • Develop, coach and lead a cross-functional group of Global customer insight professionals in the US and 5 major markets and support the Customer and Business Insights (CBI) Department head and Franchise TA heads (Global, US) with recruiting, objective/priority setting, training and career development of this organization;

  • Actively participate as a core member of Global Brand Commercial Team for Xofigo and Larotrectanib and support Oncology TA Head with strategic decision-making based on global insights and analytics; proactively lead the development and activation of clear and actionable business recommendations based on these insights. Ensure that brand market research and CI plans are reviewed and approved by BCTs on an annual basis;

  • Continuously measure Oncology business performance and identify market trends, business gaps/opportunities based on robust data analytics. Provide regular business updates to TA heads;

  • Supervise the design and execution of key PMR and CI studies and ensure that innovative methodologies and approaches are considered to increase speed and value of insight generation;

  • Review and provide input to global forecasting team for inline, pipeline and new business forecasts based on key business drivers from appropriate data sources;

  • Handle key administrative and operational responsibilities of function (i.e. budgeting, planning, objective setting and performance reviews);

  • Ensure that quality standards and compliance processes are adhered to with regular training for new hires and external agencies;

  • Partner with Procurement to select, manage and evaluate external partners and suppliers and maintain strong relationships with lean agencies.

Who you are

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Economics, Healthcare, Public Health, Life Sciences, Management or Data Science;

  • Minimum of 15 years of overall work experience; at least 10 in the pharma industry and 6 within market research;

  • Strong experience and knowledge of oncology market and pipeline, pricing and contracting policies and other relevant health care policies along with fluency in key commercial data sources including but not limited to Iqvia, SourceRx, Veeva, Flatiron, Trialtrove, specialty pharmacy data, formulary data and Google analytics;

  • Highly organized and motivated individual who has the ability to motivate and lead international teams and demonstrate managerial courage in tackling key business issues and challenges;

  • Strong display of strategic thinking and advanced problem solving and analytical skills;

  • Record of professional success, demonstrated through above-average performance reviews, promotions, and relevant "extracurricular" activities/ engagements;

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to synthesize data and insights and deliver clear business analyses and recommendations. Fluent in English;

  • Strong organizational and project management skills and be able to work independently to plan, organize and implement multiple projects within time, budget and capacity constraints and participate in global strategic planning and annual brand planning efforts.

  • Demonstrated ability to grow and develop high performing teams; must also be highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, interfacing, and effectively negotiating with key internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree;

  • Global or international experience.
