Robert Half Project Manager/Sr. Consultant in Whippany, New Jersey

Description Our local client is seeking candidates to work onsite with their existing team as a Senior Project Manager. This long-term contract / contract to permanent employment opportunity is based in the Whippany, New Jersey area. We are seeking candidates to manage key projects as part of our client's strategic business plan as their Senior Project Manager. You'll do well in this job if you can serve as a key member of the team by ensuring that changes are delivered to the expectations of stakeholders. Major responsibilities

  • Watches and schedules projects - as per the Project Roadmap defined by the Business Owner

  • Betters to manage, classify, and identify risk for functional improvement requests

  • Directs the daily stand-ups, seeing to it they are focused, brief, and timely

  • Creates schedules and milestones, manages project scope and timelines, and inputs from all other teams assigns to that product

  • Work in close partnership with the Business Analyst, QA Manager, Product Specialist, and Product Owner/Product Manager

  • Coordinates with the Product Owner/Product Manager to turn the product roadmap into executable projects

  • Administers deployment scheduling in coordination with tech lead, Product Owner, and Dev Ops

  • Provide assistance to facilitate creation and maintenance of the Project Roadmap with the Product Owner/Product Manager

  • Lays out project with appropriate ticket workflows and boards

  • Works as Scrum Master for the developers on the team - clearing obstacles, leading scrum ceremonies, and ensuring the team is working effectively

  • Gives a hand to manage dependencies among cross-product teams

  • Gathers information from technical leads, QA leads and business analysts into recommendations

  • Secure that the functional requirements are achievable, tracked, and met

  • Present detailed reporting to management on risk assessment, project status, and milestone completion

  • Aid the team focus on the on-time delivery of agreed products

  • Directs project planning

  • Establishes the RACI matrix for projects in a product line

  • Collaborates and communicates with stakeholders, developers, technical team members and designers

  • Works with Product Owner/Product Manager to ensure that the product vision and high-level business objectives are clear and achievable

  • Organizes and leads the sprint planning and grooming meetings and records ticket assignments Requirements - Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues

    • A Project Management (PMP) certification is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

    • We are particularly looking for candidates with experience working with e-learning and blended learning programs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Agile project management

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Project management knowledge, along with strong operation and project management skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

    • This position will be the best fit for a candidate with proficiency using commonly accepted scheduling and project management tools
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant Project Management experience
