Intern - Medical Affairs & Pharmacovigilance

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Intern, are to:

  • Learn to develop disease and drug expertise within a two month period following their assignment, and actively seeks opportunity to further learn about them from in-house and external experts;

  • Learn to develop health economic and health-related quality-of-life expertise in the assigned therapeutic areas within three months;

  • Learn to consult and negotiate with Marketing Product Managers and Associate Medical Directors in the development of plans for each drug;

  • For each assigned project, serves as one of the contacts to marketing, managed care, scientific affairs, sales, and medical with respect to some issues of cost-effectiveness and outcomes trial design, execution, analysis, reporting, and interpretation;

  • Learn to perform economic analysis using scientifically appropriate methodology;

  • Work with the Deputy Director, HEOR Research in coordinating international activities for assigned products, and to ensure that training needs are met for both internal and external audiences;

  • Consult with consultants and investigators and reviews the literature to ensure that state-of-the-art methods are introduced and employed within the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates must be a high performer with an interested in the interactions between science and policy, wants to work with dynamic people and contribute to a changing environment;

  • Enrollment in a graduate degree program with a focus in pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, drug safety, clinical research or relatable science/technical field;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to display poise and confidence and to project professionalism in interacting with internal and external stakeholders;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
