What You Can Expect
The Materials Planner ensures that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production reliability. This role must also communicate to a variety of groups around materials shortages, volumes, and capacity. This requires the ability to maintain strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements. In doing so, this position helps Zimmer Biomet commit to the highest standards of patient safety and quality in our products and services and to world-class integrity and ethical business practices.
How You'll Create Impact
Develops, maintains, and communicates materials schedules, inventory positions, and product costs to supply planning, manufacturing operations and others, as necessary
Analyze requirements trends to support current and future production plans from operations planning. Generate and action direct materials needs utilizing and interpreting messages from the material requirements plan (MRP)
Schedule the supply of direct materials and components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels at Zimmer Biomet
Communicate raw materials shortages, update supply plans and execute on follow up actions, as necessary
Communicate with suppliers regarding future planned volumes, capacity, and capacity availability.
Reconcile supply non-conformances, return of product, and re-planning of material needs
Escalate supplier capacity related issues and overall performance issues to sourcing team / commodity management
Develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of use
Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement; includes setting of standard costs, and monitoring and resolving purchase price variance drivers
Monitor inventory levels against target levels
Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy
Minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability

Your Background
A minimum of a BS or BA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or other related field is required
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Project Management, Planning, or IT Systems is required; it is strongly preferred to have experience more than one area
Experience with medical devices preferred
Experience with one or more ERP system preferred
