Robert Half Assistant Controller in Taylor, Michigan

Description We are on the lookout for a diligent Assistant Controller to join our team located in TAYLOR, Michigan. The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in the financial management of our non-automotive industry operations, focusing on financing strategies, risk management, and compliance. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those who are keen on demonstrating proactive decision-making abilities, excellent communication, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and certain banking functions

• Ensure timely payment of purchase invoices and prompt distribution of sales invoices

• Manage customer credit, terms, and collections

• Assist in the accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end financial statements

• Review and address budget variances, and contribute to monthly/quarterly budget reporting and forecasting

• Provide guidance to department managers regarding procedures, controls, efficiency, and KPI measurements

• Safeguard assets, oversee company investments, control costs, and manage procurement activities

• Develop ad hoc analysis reports for management and the department

• Review and address all risk and compliance matters

• Contribute to the preparation for the annual audit

• Lead the team in day-to-day operations and act as a point of contact in the absence of the Controller Requirements • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role as an Assistant Controller

• Proficiency in managing Month End Close processes

• Extensive knowledge and experience with General Ledger management

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Excel features

• Strong understanding of GAAP

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy in work

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
