System One Terminal Supervisor in Tampa, Florida

System One is currently hiring for a skilled Terminal Supervisor in Tampa, FL.

Summary:

Responsibilities include assisting Terminal Management with all aspects of bulk handling operations; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; resolving problems and responsible for safe and efficient movement of bulk cargoes operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise employees, assigning job tasks as necessary for the movement of bulk fertilizer and handling equipment and facilities.

  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, punctuality and general compliance with requirements

  • Follows and enforces all rules and procedures

  • Observes for compliance of safety rules and procedures.

  • Assures that new employees are trained as necessary for tasks to be performed.

  • Job Postings – must create and follow through to completion on the hiring of employees.

  • Understands and can communicate understanding to others of movement operations and bulk material handling operations.

  • Train and develop subordinates in unloading and loading operations.

  • Interprets specifications, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product handling.

  • Has understanding and grasp of environmental impact of product handling operations,

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of operation crews, track department, or work crew.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Maintains payroll and overtime documentation and works with the Administrative Assistant regarding employee time records and weekly timesheet issues.

  • Assists in investigating accidents and "near-misses"

  • Assist in coordinating with crews on the receiving, unloading and loading of vessels

  • Assist in coordinating the switching of all railcars

  • Coordinates vessel and railcar schedules with customers

  • Review and distribute vessel nominations and schedule specific inventories for loading/unloading

  • Review, edit, update, and finalize all vessel paperwork upon completion

  • Organizes and executes site procurement

  • Reviews all reports to monitor proper equipment maintenance and work efficiency

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 3 to 5 years operations experience in bulk terminals or 4 year college degree with 1 year supervisory experience

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of bulk material storage and handling. This includes rail and water movements of bulk material products

  • Should have basic knowledge of heavy equipment, conveyor systems and vessel operations

  • Basic knowledge of rail and vessel loading/unloading required

  • Should have basic mechanical knowledge.

  • Must be able to work swing shift rotating days to nights

  • Must be willing to work overtime hours during the week and/or weekends as dictated by operations

  • Must pass and complete safety training/certification as required by the company

  • Must be able to understand the needs of the business unit(s) for which development work is being performed.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Office Suite general products.

  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing small projects and see projects to completion while maintaining strict confidentiality

  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from manager(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.

  • Must possess and/or obtain a TWIC.
