Position : Driver-Yard/Plant 3rd Shift

· Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and DFA rules, regulations, and policies adhering to all safety practices
· Receive instructions via radio and perform trailer shuttling to accommodate logistical needs
· Perform daily maintenance checks of shuttle truck and report any malfunctions to the appropriate person
· Document all trailer moves into the appropriate system or daily move sheet; submit sheet to appropriate person upon the completion of the shift
· Fuel the yard truck as needed
· Couple and uncouple tractor trailer units
· Connect and disconnect brake lines as needed
· Perform safety check inspection of the trailer according to DOT regulations
· Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift
· Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with local staff; report any problems to the supervisor
· Attend all driver workshops and training sessions

· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Tractor/trailer experience, within the last five years preferred
· Must meet minimum age requirements
· Meet all DOT requirements
· Meet Dairy Farmers of America Motor Vehicle Record requirements
· Certification and/or License – driver’s license or operator’s permit for at least the three years immediately prior to application - Current CDL (Class A) license preferred but not required
· Understanding of DOT transportation regulations related to lawful operation
· Able to work safely and recognize sudden hazards and adjust accordingly
· Able to use computers and technology needed for the job
· Skills with math sufficient to calculate load size
· Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
· Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)
· Able to be proactive in seeking solutions, taking appropriate steps for problem-solving
· Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
· Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
· Able to interpret and apply company policies
