EXOS Aquatics Recreation Manager in St. Paul, Minnesota

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Aquatics Recreation Manager with a background in programming and/or recreation. The Aquatics Recreation Manager will have a strong focus on community engagement and an understanding of how to grow existing programs as well as to develop new programs. You are able to think “big picture” and can jump in to expand revenue growth within the Aquatics Department. As an Aquatics Recreation Manager you will:

  • Recruit, hire and train all Aquatics staff

  • Develop and grow programs within the Aquatics Department to include our Masters Swim Program, Swim Lesson Program, Youth Swim Team

  • Have a strong commitment to community engagement that will enhance the visibility of aquatics programs as well as the entire JCC center

  • Develop the promotional and marketing for the Aquatics department

  • Manage pool areas and maintain staff coverage of pool areas

  • Other duties as needed

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Minimum of an AA degree required, Bachelor's preferred

  • CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain certifications upon hire

  • Lifeguard and Lifeguard Training certifications or ability to obtain certifications upon hire

  • Experience in aquatics programming or recreation background.

  • 2+ years of management experience in hospitality/fitness industry; prior experience leading a large team is preferred

  • 2+ years of experience as a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor preferred

  • Bi-Lingual/fluent in Spanish

  • Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday

  • Frequent walking and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily

  • Ability to be in water for long periods during the day when necessary
