Amazon Learning Experience Designer, Amazon Autos in Seattle, Washington

We're on a journey to build something new! Our team is building a new Automotive discovery and shopping product that connects customers with their new vehicle of choice. We’re developing new customer experiences and seller tools to support the entire vehicle discovery journey.

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our Vehicle Sales team and be responsible for developing comprehensive training and communications content for our Automotive discovery and shopping product. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams including sellers, account managers, product teams, and subject matter experts to analyze needs and create accessible, scalable learning solutions and performance support tools.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing blended learning materials such as eLearning courses, instructor-led training, job aids, and multimedia. They should have expertise in adult learning theory and using data to drive continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to utilize your instructional design skills and project management abilities to launch a new Automotive product and support updates to existing products and services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Use appropriate tools and delivery methods to produce blended learning materials promoting learning through self-study, practice, performance support, socialization and knowledge-sharing.

  • Conduct needs analysis to design and develop bar-raising, accessible, scalable learning solutions for multiple modalities and a global audience.

  • Pursue a deep understanding of multiple learner roles supporting multiple operational programs to ensure learning solutions meet the needs of the business and learners.

  • Develop evaluation strategies measuring learner outcomes of knowledge acquisition and impact to business metrics.

  • Develop comprehensive training/design plan to monitor progress and serve as a communication tool for stakeholders.

  • Prioritize effectively to manage multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.

  • Collaborate effectively with other teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to support launches of new products and services, as well as supporting updates to existing products and services.

  • Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technology and tools.

  • Perform LMS administration tasks including: upload of new content, update to existing content, curricula creation, and report generation

  • Support video editing for dealer hub, PDF knowledge guides, and LMS modules.

  • Conduct needs analysis to design and develop bar-raising, accessible, scalable learning solutions for multiple modalities and a global audience.

About the team

We are a newly formed team with a vision to create innovative discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon, providing customers better convenience and more selection. We’re collaborating with other experienced teams at Amazon to define the future of how customers research and shop for products in the complex automotive space. This role is part of the Vehicle Sales team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • 3+ years direct experience in designing training content to include eLearning courses, instructor-led materials, job aids, system simulations, multimedia products (video, graphic, audio), and other training materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • 3+ years direct experience using eLearning authoring tools to build learning experiences that include assessments, interactive activities, animated videos, graphics and images, and text-based content. (Articulate Studio/Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, and Vyond)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
