Sr Staff Product Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior Staff Product Engineer/Technical Project Manager in the Renesas Radio Frequency Division (RFD), you will leverage your deep expertise to guide advanced mmwave and RF ICs through their entire product lifecycle. This pivotal role is critical for the efficient execution of new product introductions, directly influencing revenue attainment and gross margin enhancements. You will take the direct ownership of large scale projects and be the leading force in the development cycle of new products, managing both the schedule, planning, and budget for the cross-functional team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the project execution, scheduling, and budgeting along with product engineering responsibilities.

  • Define clear timelines and KPIs for the projects and closely monitor the overall performance.

  • Operate as the main interface between the NPI team and backend operations and OSATs.

  • Guide new products from compliance to production, ensuring adherence to our rigorous development process.

  • Formulate and execute plans for product characterization qualification and ATE testing in line with Renesas guidelines and JEDEC standards.

  • Drive measurements/data collection and statistical analysis for Characterization, Qualification, Correlation, Production Test Limit setting, and any other specialized testing for datasheet parameters.

  • Spearhead cost reductions through yield improvement and test time optimizations

  • Review NPI related hardware designs.

  • Excursion management (Low yield and RMAs)

  • Validate production test solutions with test engineers.

  • Continuously identify enhancements to the NPI process, focusing on efficiency and reduction of overhead

Additional Information

  • 10+ years experience in IC product engineering and NPI management

  • Experience in bringing new products from definition to production release including characterization and reliability testing

  • Extensive experience in RFIC production and managing complex IC development projects

  • Knowledge of operation and testing of RFIC and mixed signal products for wireless and satellite applications

  • Advanced knowledge in IC manufacturing process and failure analysis techniques

  • Statistical analysis capability. Knowledge of JMP, Gauge R&R, limit setting and DOE methodology

  • Bench evaluation skills with proficiency in Python or similar (preferred)

  • Good critical thinking skills to troubleshoot a variety of challenging issues

  • Good communication, team working, and organizational skills
