    About the Position:

    The Human Resources Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the HR department at LifeSTEPS. The responsibilities for this position will span various facets of HR operations, including recruitment, employee onboarding, employee retention, leadership training and development, policy enforcement, compliance with employment laws, maintenance of employee records, and general administrative tasks.

    Core Duties:

  • Oversee and coordinate all recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, volunteers and interns.

  • Collaborates with regional managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Make recommendations for creative recruitment solutions if the organization is experiencing difficulties in attracting the appropriate level and quality of candidates.

  • Post and track open positions to ensure staffing levels are appropriately recruited for and filled.

  • Provide seamless onboarding to ensure new staff members have a strong and welcoming start to their journey with LifeSTEPS. From coordinating paperwork to introducing them to LifeSTEPS’ culture and policies, attention to detail will be vital in setting the stage for their success.

  • Lead engaging and informative new employee orientation sessions to familiarize them with our company mission, values, and expectations. Provide comprehensive guidance on policies and resources available to support their success within the organization. Ability to communicate effectively will be key in helping newcomers feel valued and integrated from day one.

  • Partner with the HR Coordinator in administering employee satisfaction surveys to gather valuable feedback on workplace experiences and areas for improvement. Assist in analyzing survey results and identifying trends to inform strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and retention.

  • Work closely with the Human Resources Director and Regional Leadership teams in laying the groundwork for comprehensive training and leadership development initiatives within the organization.

  • Take an active role in developing and delivering training sessions and/or workshops to LifeSTEPS Leadership employees.

  • Enforce various human resources policies and procedures for all organization personnel.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or HR Certification in a related field

  • One year of experience in a Human Resources setting, with recruiting experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

  • Experience working in a non-profit setting is preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
