Revlon Senior Manager, International Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position in Roanoke, VA will report to the Director, NA Delivery. The Sr. Manager International Transportation is responsible for providing leadership for all Inbound and Outbound International transportation operations. Managing approximately $30MM of annual spend. The Sr. Manager International Transportation works collaboratively, cross-functionally, internally and externally, to achieve the highest levels of on-time service and quality at the lowest possible cost.

The Sr. Manager International Transportation has strategic, tactical and operational responsibilities which may include TMS evaluation, carrier strategy development, carrier relationship management, assisting with contract administration, RFP collaboration, rate management, understanding the macro-environment (industry trends, best practices, regulatory environment) understanding global customer transportation requirements, month-end/quarter-end operational support, ocean carrier compliance to cargo security requirements and any other duties assigned.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Responsible for the effective and efficient management of Revlon International Transportation including the Ocean, Port Drayage and NVOCC management. Must manage all aspects of global shipping to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments to Revlon locations and other locations as determined.

  • Responsible for designing, developing and implementing transportation strategies and/or leading execution activities for all International Shipping including Full Container, Less than Container (LCL) and Air Cargo. This includes working with Non- Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC) like BDP as well as Ocean Carriers (ICL, Maersk, ONE, etc.).

  • Work with Carriers and Ports to avoid delays and ensure timely deliveries around the world.

  • Partner with Revlon Customs Compliance to ensure Bonded Shipments and border delays are handled quickly and efficiently.

  • Collaborate with Buyers and Planners to ensure all PO’s are accurate in SAP/JDE/BDP and monitor weekly to avoid delays. Sr. Manager International Transportation should be proactive with PO management and reactive when required. This includes ensuring all Inbound Delivery Receipts are created in SAP by the International Team.

  • Take initiative / challenge the status quo; recommend/lead initiatives to improve carrier performance, reduce cycle time and deliver sustained improvement. Resolve carrier issues timely and develop reports and programs to minimize service disruptions.

  • Hire, mentor, lead and inspire staff to achieve high levels of performance. Ensure a cross functionally trained team in order to support our various software platforms and develop bench strength for the future. Plan and schedule work assignments; develop goals and objectives; execute performance reviews.

  • Directly supervise a team of 5+ with focus on Import and Exports for US.

  • Direct Carrier and NVOCC on required weekly reporting and KPI’s along with path to resolution for weekly issues.

  • Collaborate with Procurement to conduct RFP’s annually for Ocean Container Rates, Drayage and Air Cargo.

  • Assist Compliance Team with SOX or SOC1 requirements around NVOCC and data exchange.

  • Work cross functionally with Domestic Transportation for inland and cross border moves in North America.

  • Complete monthly TOA’s(internal system routing) for Air Freight, work to reduce overall Expedited spend.

  • Facilitate shipping issues and delays with Buyers, Planners and Suppliers. This includes overseeing daily updates into SAP/JDE of shipping information from Carriers and NVOCC’s.

  • Develop contingency plans around global delays and holidays.

  • Ensure all contracts and rates for global shipping are provided to Sr. Manager Domestic Transportation and Freight Payment. Coordinate with Freight Payment on proper attributes to collect for KPI reporting.

  • Direct all Revlon International Business Units to ensure appropriate compliance regarding carrier usage and transit times.

  • Oversee hazmat regulations and Revlon Team Member Training as required. Oversee claims filed with carriers.

  • Development of SOP’s and Procedures to support best practices for international shipping.

  • Inform management on changes in regulatory or government regulations that impact Revlon shipping.

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of progressive transportation experience is required, preferably in a multi-divisional consumer goods public company.

  • 2+ years in management position preferred.

  • Work with a top tier Transportation Management System required.

  • Experience with manufacturing or transportation companies a plus.

· Knowledge of International shipping lanes

· Strong mentoring skills in order to develop team

EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations Management

  • MBA a plus

  • Six Sigma / Lean certification is a plus
