Job Title: CAL New Hire Onboarding Specialist (Commercial Lines)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive New Hire Onboarding Specialist to join our team at HUB International California Region Shared Services Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the onboarding process for new hires within California Hubs’ Commercial Lines departments. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that new employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to excel in their roles and make a positive impact on HUB International. CAL New Hire Onboarding Specialist (Commercial Lines) will report to SVP, Operations, Learning and Development, CAL Region.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Onboarding Strategy:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive onboarding strategy tailored specifically to Commercial Lines employees.

  • Identify key objectives, milestones, and training requirements for successful onboarding.

Create Training Materials:

  • Develop engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and online modules, to facilitate the onboarding process.

  • Ensure that training materials are up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with departmental goals and procedures.

Coordinate Onboarding Activities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding process, including collaborating with Regional and Corporate training teams, scheduling training sessions, arranging logistics, and providing necessary resources and materials.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires throughout the onboarding period, offering guidance, support, and encouragement as needed.

Facilitate Training Sessions:

  • Conduct training sessions for new hires, covering topics such as company policies and procedures, industry-specific knowledge, software systems, and best practices.

  • Foster an interactive and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and collaboration among new hires.

Monitor Progress and Provide Feedback:

  • Track the progress of new hires throughout the onboarding process using established metrics, identifying areas of strength and areas needing improvement.

  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to new hires, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for success in their roles.

Evaluate and Improve Onboarding Process:

  • Collect feedback from new hires, managers, and other stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of the onboarding process.

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes and enhancements to continually optimize the onboarding experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in the Insurance Industry, in service and operations roles.

  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.

  • Proven experience in training, onboarding, mentoring or talent development roles, preferably within the insurance or brokerage industry.

  • Strong understanding of Commercial Lines insurance products, policies, and procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EPIC Agency Management System.

  • Certification in training or instructional design is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to work collaboratively.

Job Requirements and Travel Expectations

At HUB, we operate under a hybrid working policy, offering a balance between remote work and in-office collaboration. This means that while you'll have the flexibility to work remotely for a portion of your time, there will also be opportunities and requirements for in-person engagements.

The position will entail approximately 40% travel. This travel component is an essential aspect of the role and may involve visiting attending industry events or participating in team meetings and trainings in various HUB locations.
