GE Aerospace Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in Remote, Utah

Job Description Summary

The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. You will select suppliers through qualification processes, own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards, own supplier audits, ensure compliance, and drive improvement plans where needed. You should have in-depth knowledge of quality management best practices and have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence

  • Develop MIM suppliers to be able to deliver on S-1000 and flow-down specification requirements

  • Reviewing and approving supplier FAI and special process plans

  • Drive root cause and corrective action plans across suppliers

  • Identify process improvements needed to drive better first time yield resulting in improved delivery

  • Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineers on design for manufacturability improving producibility

  • Identifying gaps in quality system driving corrective actions needed to closure

  • Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects

  • Present product / program strategies, roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

  • Utilize technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations

  • Significant Travel Required (at times 50%+ travel within United States and Overseas)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or institution

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Quality Systems, Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality or Supply Chain Manufacturing

  • Strong background in supplier quality and supplier management

  • Experience in Casting, MIM or Machining manufacturing practices

  • Experience in developing quality specifications, reviewing supplier quality planning

  • Experience managing quality or manufacturing teams

  • Established project management skills

The base pay range for this position is 110,000.00 - 132,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on May 22, 2024 .
