Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business Unit, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

As Combustors & Structures Materials Leader you will be responsible of implementing a new work organization in a growth environment. Your main responsibility will be to meet output, input, delinquency, inventory turns and inventory balance goals. Daily contact and interface with Customer, Suppliers and Production shop is required.

In this role you will coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and also within departments) according to production schedules.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Determine input, output, inventory and turns forecasts

  • Re-define the team roles and responsibilities in a growth environment

  • Be accountable on supplier performance/on time delivery, lead team to act as main point of contact with suppliers tracking status reports and critical material

  • Lead Fulfillment team to drive Customer reviews, status reports and recovery plans

  • Assure inventory goals are met and drive the result of zero customer disappointments

  • Enhance the current processes, through the use of data, such that they are compatible with the principles of Flow Technology and Demand Based Management

  • Translate, prepare and assign meaningful and functional manufacturing productivity plans to meet established master schedules for customers

  • Work to control and drive improvement on inventory levels, cycle time, machine loads, and other aspects as required to meet production schedules

  • Set strategic direction for planning and scheduling activities within the organization

  • Provide leadership in using advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization and in developing, planning and implementing the master schedule

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Engineering Master’s degree from an accredited university or college

  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing and materials management position

  • Proven experience in a managerial role

  • Servant Leadership approach

  • Understanding of production and inventory control techniques, i.e. material planning, master scheduling, and shop floor control

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology

  • Fluent in Italian and English languages

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Avio Aero products and processes is nice to have

  • Experience on managing high mix/low volume environment

  • Exposure experience (suppliers, customers, shop)

  • Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions and their effects on inventory management principles

  • Strong team player with high energy

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
