Context/Scope:

Position requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of the processing operations including safety requirements, batching operations, tank room operations, quality standards, and management of supply, SAP, budget requirements, inventory management, critical metric requirements, and other regulatory requirements.

Purpose of Role:

Provide direction of planning, organizing and controlling the staff to blend according to the manufacturing program. Lead the production operations including flavor/product blending and filtration, Government record keeping, shipping documentation preparation and ingredient inventory management for the production site.

Key Outputs:

  • Responsible and accountable for departmental budget including overhead, direct & indirect labor Responsible for the direction of a team who performs processing & blending operations

  • May be responsible for up to 4 team leaders and/or analyst Work in collaboration with the bulk planner

  • Ensure all production is accounted for in an appropriate manner including:

  • Manage ordering, receipt and inventory of raw materials

  • Leading government record, alternating premise and product trace systems

  • Assures compliance with federal and state safety regulations to maintain safe working environment Assures compliance with federal and corporate standard taking care of transportation of dangerous goods Development of hourly employees to perform in a self-directed environment; carry out employee policies and procedures; resolve employee issues

  • Run corporate programs, food safety, employee safety, GMPs and environmental.

  • Ensure compliance with appropriate government agencies.

  • Ensure efficient communication between planner, scheduler and all bottling sites for all blending requirements.

  • Approve and ensure accuracy of weekly payroll for all hourly employees. Ensure scheduling and maintaining necessary records for vacation administration.

  • Adhere to budget guidelines and deliver in a timely fashion.

  • Be innovative; generate ideas to improve area of responsibility, communicating these ideas to appropriate personnel.

  • Issue work orders to maintenance for routine and non-scheduled maintenance requirements.

  • Ensure record keeping responsibilities are upheld and in a timely, accurate manner.

  • Conduct daily quality requirements in appropriate manner and report results. Maintain records of all results to enforce to corporate guidelines.

  • Committed to Continuous Improvement and participate in teams for improving quality.

  • Ensure efficient communication with all third party sites related to blending activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • 4 year Bachelors degree or equivalent (Preferably in Engineering)

  • Minimum of five years of people management experience.

  • Experience in flavor production; or equivalent

  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent level of education and experience Strong analytical and budgeting skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

  • Experience in warehousing, maturing and/or liquid processing operations.

  • Excellent organization skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Communicate effectively with other departments, as well as all levels of management. Must be customer oriented, both inside and outside the organization.

  • Thorough working knowledge and demonstrated expertise in all areas of food/flavor processing, MSDS, Federal & local jurisdiction compliance

  • Works well with other departments, as well as all levels of management.
