Operations Manager
The Integrated Security Department is seeking an Operations Manager. As a division of Public Safety and Emergency Management, Integrated Security provides state of the art security to keep and maintain a safe experience for all. The Operations Manager is responsible for roles both Administratively and in the the field from a project management standpoint. The position has oversight on project management in both design and implementation of security systems, specifically during the implementation phase. The position will be required to act as a representative for the department by attending meetings, making site visits, communicating with the implementation teams, providing resources and equipment when necessary, and provide answers to questions in the field. This position takes the leading role in the implementation of security systems across all five University of Pittsburgh campuses. The position is responsible for other duties and special projects assigned.
Job Summary
Serves as authority for University security systems and all associated projects. Responds to service calls and emergencies. Manages inspections and audits.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for daily project management.
- General supervision of all field technicians, coordinators, programmers, contractors, and other resources dedicated to field operations.
- Develop project plans, determine cost and time estimates, and assess labor needs for projects.
- Perform on-site surveys and design security systems for all 5 University of Pittsburgh campuses.
- Provide technical expertise on all projects.
- Meet with and consult with outside vendor(s) on design work.
- Develop and refine policies for service calls, service requests, preventative maintenance, and on call procedures.
- Assist with Emergency Operations Center as needed.
- Work with Protective Security Advisor on planning on security needs.
Physical Effort
Traveling across campus throughout the day and occasionally to regional campuses. Lifting of heavy objects that may exceed 100 lbs. Climbing ladders to reach equipment. Working in small, tight spaces is also required.
