Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Information Specialist (HEOa) - Athletics & Recreation
POSITION DETAILS
The Assistant Athletics Director of Sports Information reports to theStudentAthletics Manager. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Information will be responsible for the following duties:
Serves as the official athletic teams’ communication specialist, statistician, and uses SIDEArm, StatCrew, Genius, and other systems to support game management and awareness.
Manages in game sports scoring and other statistical software programs to update team/player statistics for theNCAA and various conferences.
Orchestrates and organizes all live game stats/streaming, game tables’ workers, and promotions/marketing of the athletic department.
Leads public / media relations with social media platforms, and archives team history.
Works within Student Affairs and across the College to broaden the impact of Athletics and Recreation in the student, faculty and staff experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrate high level of motivation with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to make independent decisions and think/act assertively and professionally.
Demonstrate ability to supervise staff and work with student workers.
Demonstrate ability to coordinate/attract student workforce.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Website management, and publisher; knowledge of Adobe Create Cloud Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and other software to assist in successful and streamlined completion of duties.
Stat Crew and NCAA Genius statistical software experience, and ability to stay current in various software/systemsAdvanced expertise with social media platforms.
Demonstrate commitment to diversity and the needs of diverse faculty, staff, students, and university community.
Willingness to work collaboratively with various internal/external colleagues for enhanced outcomes, while staying relevant in industry and higher education.
Demonstrate and commitment to a willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule in an athletic environment, while balancing personal/professional life.
Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands and projects, while meeting internal/external deadlines.
Attention to details are essential, along with excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication, presentation and networking skills.

Administers one or more aspects of a College athletics program.
Coordinates development and implementation of information and marketing materials, such as web sites
Coordinates recreation and intramural programs in support of wellness activities
Organizes, coordinates, and manages intramural and varsity sports events
Compiles and reports on statistics for NCAA and CUNY requirements; compiles reports on programs and activities
Coordinates scheduling of facilities and programs
Assists management with planning and oversight of various athletics activities
Performs related duties as assigned.
