Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Entry-Level Accountant role in the engineering industry, located in Manhattan, New York. The role will involve managing project accounting and accounts receivable duties for ongoing projects, with potential for some accounts payable duties in the future. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is crucial for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all processes

• Oversee accounts receivable duties, including invoicing, payment collection, and account reconciliation

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records and resolve any customer credit inquiries

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting

• In the future, handle accounts payable duties as required

• Maintain a strong aptitude for accounting functions and check processing

• Collaborate with the team to ensure all financial data is up-to-date and accurate

• Adhere to all industry regulations and standards in all accounting practices. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Understanding of basic Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Check Processing procedures

• Knowledge of Project Accounting principles

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Legally authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
