O’Neal Steel is currently seeking a Sales Manager for the Nashville, TN district..
The Sales Manager supervises and directs the district inside sales team. Implements business development strategy that drives positive financial results for the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ + Directly responsible for continuous sales volume growth and new account development
Develop pricing strategies, perform account pricing reviews and enforce compliance with O’Neal Steel Pricing Excellence
Supervise the sales team: conduct performance and salary reviews, develop strategies for performance and productivity improvement, administer discipline, justify and request new personnel and schedule team member time off
Approve credits, debits and return authorizations as required
Lead account development and prospect qualification process
Entertain customers, suppliers and visitors, make visits to existing accounts, make visits to potential accounts and handle customer complaints
Conduct territory and market research and develop sales strategies
Respond to corporate requests for information through direct interaction with Accounting, Credit, Human Resources, Information Services, Supply Chain, Benefits, Risk Management, Product Development, Business Development and the Leadership team
Prepare and review various sales reports
Assist in inventory management through forecasting and evaluating service levels, including customer specific inventory
Conduct projects and studies on procedures, products processes, etc
Coordinate new team member training and continuing education for sales team
Responsible for providing on-time and error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position
Required Skills:
Minimum of 5 years’ of previous sales experience in the steel or metal industry
Previous managerial experience preferred
Must possess strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication, time management, and problem solving skills
Proficient with computer applications and internet based applications
Additional Skills (above average skill required): analysis and interpretation, communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills, motivation, negotiating, organization, problem solving, handling outside contacts, interdepartmental coordination, judgement and decision making, developing group cooperation and teamwork, coping with difficulties and emergencies, promoting safety attitudes and practices.
Education and Language Skills (Desired):
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or related field preferred. Non-degree candidates with equivalent in training and experience will be considered.

5 years: Minimum of 5 years' of previous sales experience in the steel or metal industry.
Must possess strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
