GAF Electrical Maintenance Technician in Myerstown, Pennsylvania

Pay Range: This position will pay between $34.01/hour and $37.36/hour depending on experience.

Shift: This position will have a 16-week rotation, working 8-hour shifts, 40 hours a week, as followed:

12 weeks, first shift, 7am - 3pm

2 weeks, second shift, 3pm - 11pm

2 weeks, third shift, 11pm - 7am

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician needs to be a dependable self-starter with a desire to grow and succeed. Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Identifies parts for replacement and machines that need new parts and places orders as necessary. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintain production equipment to subassembly or component level

Provide documentation of equipment maintenance including inspection, repair, and modifications Perform all Preventative Maintenance Work within Plant

Use of Hand Tools, Power Tools, and Diagnostic Tools

Operate Fork-lifts and Man-lifts

Assist in development of preventive and predictive maintenance procedures for new equipment Provide documentation of equipment maintenance including inspection, repair, and modifications Provide technical guidance to future Production Team Members in proper maintenance procedures Complete project work

Perform unloading, loading, cleaning, and miscellaneous duties as assigned

General knowledge/skills

Communication skills - proficient in written, verbal, and listening skills

Demonstrated willingness to be actively involved in day-to-day Plant activities

Familiarity with Safety activities, safe behavior observations, and team activities

Physical Requirements

Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing

Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs and walk on open grating on elevated surfaces Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch

Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone

Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Must continuously have the ability to differentiate colors precisely

Occasionally operate business machines

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

2-5 years demonstrated Maintenance Experience

Ability to install and align pumps, gearboxes, motors

Ability to install and maintain bearings, belts, pulleys, etc.

Welding Experience

Ability to install piping, valves, flowmeters
