The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) is recruiting experienced nation-state threat hunters – with highly honed threat intelligence analysis skills. MSTIC provides unique insight on threats to protect Microsoft and our customers and is responsible for delivering timely threat intelligence across our product and services teams.

This position is 100% remote, therefore we are open to applicants within Europe that are outside of the advertised location.

Responsibilities

MSTIC is building a new threat intelligence team in Europe and the Principal Threat Intelligence Manager will be responsible for building and the leading this team. The members of this team will all be remote employees from across Europe and you will support their development, ensuring they are integrated in the wider MSTIC and Microsoft team.

Through your leadership, you will grow an effective and productive analytical team that will be a core component of MSTIC’s threat tracking effort, working in harmony with the other geographically distributed MSTIC teams.

This role requires cross-team and cross-geo collaboration, and an ability to represent highly technical research and threat information to a range of audiences. This ranges from other security subject matter experts (inside and outside the company) to partner teams and supporting some customer engagements.

You will be persuasive in getting buy-in for your ideas both within the MSTIC and from key engineering groups across Microsoft, working in partnership with them to protect both Microsoft assets and also Microsoft’s wider customer base through improved product and services offerings.

You will strengthen existing partnerships and build new ones with key organizations deliver benefit to Microsoft and its customers.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in the security domain, to include both understanding of tracking APT adversaries and their use of TTPs, capabilities, infrastructure, and operational campaigns.

Experience building and leading threat intelligence or security operations teams.

Proven ability to relate technical research advances and insights to business impact.

Demonstrated success in the production or application of cyber threat intelligence.

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships and must have:

  • A demonstrated capability to coherently and strategically present potentially sensitive threat intelligence to a wide variety of audiences in public forums, tailoring and recognizing various levels of technical and policy knowledge.

  • Experience working on sensitive threat intelligence with a variety of external partners, including either or both of: EU institutions and organizations, and EU member state governments.
