BWXT is currently seeking a Police Officer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

BWXT’s Police Department is a fully certified Police Department. We are seeking applicants who are passionate about being part of a team of professionals who protect and defend our Lynchburg, Virginia, facility where vital work is done to support the U.S. National Defense. Overtime and second or third shift work is required.

Job Description/Duties:

  • Performs security/police duties in accordance with regulatory safeguards, procedures, policies and the Department of Criminal Justice Services.

  • Performs duties to ensure access control of personnel, packages, materials into and out of restricted areas and the protection of classified material.

  • Maintains the highest levels of preparedness and vigilance to safeguard against threats to people and products vital to national security.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED AND meet at least ONE of the following criteria:

  • 1) Be a current Certified Law Enforcement Officer, or

  • 2) Have previous Military or Law Enforcement experience, or

  • 3) Have a minimum of 48 Credit Hours of relevant college education, or

  • 4) Be enrolled in a relevant College Degree program with an expected graduation date within the next 12 months.

  • Applicants who are currently a Virginia DCJS Certified Law Enforcement Officer are preferred.

  • Must be at least 21 years old.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Must complete physical agility test, physical exam, psychological evaluation, and drug screen successfully.

  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” clearance.

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
