The Resource Manager is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the customer service, planning, inventory control, and shipping functions to exceed customer expectations. As a member of the plant management team, the Resource Manager is responsible for evaluating opportunities to improve overall plant performance and profitability.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Coordinate the efforts of customer service, planning, and shipping functions for the plant to meet and exceed plant on-time delivery targets.

Maintain and develop procedures to keep the entire order process in control. This includes monitoring orders at sales point, routing and inspecting all new order quotes, and intervening in case of complicated or unusual orders.

Facilitate first order meeting for all new customers and follow up on all new customer set up to ensure order is appropriately completed within the plant’s existing procedures.

Manage open orders/backlog balancing customer needs with the plant’s production capabilities.

Oversee shipping activities ensuring that shipping costs and roll-stock inventories are maintained within budgeted guidelines.

Participate in daily production meetings and provide updates as needed.

Recommend changes and improvements to products, services, policies, and operations to better fulfill customer needs.

Provide on-going direction, guidance, training, and support to staff which includes making personnel decisions on employee hire, compensation, evaluation, and disciplinary action.

Investigate escalated customer issues by working with the associates in production, customer service, shipping, scheduling, and/or accounting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business operations or logistics.

Seven (7) years’ of experience in the corrugated industry with a background in customer service, shipping, or production supervision.

Three (3) years’ previous experience in a supervisory capacity including experience in coaching, training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Established knowledge of corrugated and packaging manufacturing machinery, concepts, practices, and procedures including continual improvement processes and safety practices preferred.

Basic shipping experience with knowledge of Bill of Ladings, proof of deliveries, and truck loading capacities required.

Working knowledge of computer systems including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as experience with manufacturing systems including shop floor and enterprise customer service management software.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the company on departmental procedures, policies, and requests for information.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experience and levels both within and outside of the company.

Solid financial and business operations analysis skills with the ability to identify opportunities for improvements.

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to create new business opportunities.

Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.

Strong listening, evaluating, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to create alternative solutions and meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.

Must be able to travel as necessary and possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Previous experience working in a team environment preferred, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing among co-workers.
