UCLA Health Human Resources Supervisor in Los Angeles, California

Seeking to hire a full

time HR Supervisor to be responsible for the high-level analysis,

oversight and day to day activities of staff human resources in multiple

departments within the Academic and Staff HR Service Center. In this role you will function

independently while working under the broad direction of the Director of Academic and Staff HR

Services and leadership. Your priority will be to exercise judgement and

creativity to identify and prioritize problems, interpret policies and

procedures, recommend and implement solutions and meet operational goals of the

departments.

Specific areas of

responsibility include:

  • People Management

  • Staffing and Recruitment

  • Employee/Labor Relations

  • Personnel Administration

  • Leave Coordination

  • Benefits

  • HR Compliance

  • Payroll Management.

The HR Supervisor serves

as a consultant and point of expertise to supervisors and department leadership

on human resources issues. You will be responsible for assessing and

anticipates HR-related needs and communicate proactively with department

leadership and central HR.

Various factors are

considered when determining salary including, but not limited to,

qualifications, experience, and equity. Please note the full salary range for

this position is $86,900.00 - $197,900.00 annually. The budgeted

salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is

between $86,900.00 - $120,000.00 annually.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 1-3 years Management or Supervisory responsibility.

  • 4-6 years Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in all the functional areas of human resources.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, evaluate, and recruit staff.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of UC personnel policies (PPSM), bargaining union contracts, and procedures and practices that govern HR administration.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources concepts, employment practices, payroll, employee/labor relations, salary administration, recruitment, training, and other areas of human resources.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with department staff, managers, and colleagues.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of benefits and retirement programs, preferably in a university environment; ability to interpret and communicate complex benefits information to employees at all levels.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and resolve organizational issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete projects within specified deadlines.

  • Skilled in handling sensitive information and / or situations and maintaining strict confidentiality.

  • Skilled in meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions.

  • Skilled in composing business, personnel and / or payroll correspondence.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize work and manage divergent needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete projects within specified deadlines.

  • Human Resources certification such as SHRM or PHR. (Preferred)
