Pay Rate : $49.25 an hour

Description:

  • The Aircraft Mechanic-Aviation Life Support Services (PR) performs organizational, intermediate, and limited depot level maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, modification and troubleshooting on all assigned aircraft, components, and equipment. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed. Interpret IETMS, Maintenance Instruction Manuals, and Company directives to perform maintenance.

  • Install and remove cartridge actuated devices and propulsion actuated devices.

  • Pack, unpack, preserve, and maintain parachutes and seat survival kits.

  • Repair, fit, maintain, and preserve pilots’ personal equipment.

  • Issues and receives aircrew survival equipment. Initiate and update checkout/return records.

  • Assemble, place in service, and perform calendar inspections on oxygen mask assemblies, survival vest, helmets, and other related safety/survival equipment.

  • Perform aircraft conditional and special inspections of installed safety/survival equipment. Identifies and treats corrosion.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Parachute Rigger (Organizational or Intermediate Maintenance)

  • Aircraft Experience: F-18A-F, EA-18G, E-2C, MH-60S or F-16A/B

  • Qualified PR “A” School graduate, or equivalent Air Force or Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) course and shall be allowed to perform ALSS system maintenance.

  • Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention

  • Possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft systems

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Government Clearance

Work Environment:

  • Hanger, Shop, and/or Flight Line Environment

  • Must be open to working, First, Second, Third, or Weekend Shift

  • Union Facility

  • Shift Differential Pay
