The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

The purpose of this position is :

  • The purpose of this position is to provide cleaning support to the production floor, both manual and automated for all optical surfaces prior to application of thin film coatings.

  • This includes the completion of all associated paperwork and electronic transactions using JobBoss Shop Floor Management Software.

  • This work is performed primarily in the cleaning room located in the Coating Department.

Duties and responsibilities :

  • Verify serial numbers, count and condition of all materials received in the department for coating

  • Daily Enter all inventory information in Coating Department inventory system

  • Daily Clean all parts per standard operating procedures and kit per standard load sizes

  • Daily Complete all required paperwork and issue Acceptance Test Plans for every lot cleaned, kitted and delivered to the coating department

  • Daily Interface with technicians and supervisors from other departments to discuss rejections and ensure timely transition of parts from coating back to rework

  • Perform monthly inventory checks to verify accuracy of Coating Department inventory system, and notify Department Supervisor of any discrepancies

  • Operation and cleaning of the Ultrasonic clean line per standard operational procedures

  • Assisting with the development and improvement of all substrates currently cleaned for coating

Working Conditions:

  • Heat, noise, odors, chemical hazards

  • Lifting 35 lbs. daily

  • Wearing protective equipment

Education/experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Working with computers desired Cleanroom, assembly,

  • Inspection experience desired

  • Experience in handling precision components desired

  • Experience cleaning critical surfaces desired

  • Ability to perform repetitious tasks in a timely fashion

  • Experience with MIL specification interpretation desired

The range for this position is ​$18.50 hourly rate - $21.62 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
