National Association of Insurance Commissioners Member Services Records and Data Intern in Kansas City, Missouri

Job Description:

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Member Services Intern. This internship provides an opportunity to participate in the NAIC’s Member Services, Meetings and Events, and Education and Training business units. We are looking for a team member who would enjoy working for an organization that strives every day to support the public good and make a difference.

This is a hybrid internship located in the NAIC’s Town Pavilion office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintains complete and accurate assigned Member Services records. Confirms names, titles, contact information, etc. prior to distribution or posting. Contributes to improved organization and process best practices for tracking and maintaining data.

  • Maintains Member Services SharePoint sites and documents. Posts content on the Committee Support Staff Resources page and other Member Services SharePoint pages.

  • Tracks and manages committee activity to ensure an accurate and complete record of all committee activity on the public website and in the NAIC Proceedings.

  • Tracks minutes production and Member Services projects.

  • Provides administrative support including handling email, phone calls, and scheduling meetings.

  • Assists with projects such as coordinating with the copy center to print and ship materials, maintaining member and regulator contacts in the Insurance Department Directory (IDD), posting materials for monthly member calls or national meetings, and scheduling Webex meetings.

  • Assists with special requests as assigned by the Assistant Director of Member Services and Engagement, and collaborates with other NAIC team members as needed.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service

  • Writing, and proofreading skills

  • Ability to learn and navigate new computer programs/applications

  • Experience working with Adobe Acrobat, MS 365 apps including Word

  • Experience working with a collaboration software such as SharePoint or Google Docs

Requirements:

Hybrid schedule, two days a week in office

Monday – Friday, 20-25 hours per week , flexible schedule to accommodate classes.

Minimum duration of six months

Compensation: $15.00 an hour
