Boehringer Ingelheim Medical Education Funding Office Manager in Ingelheim, Germany

The Position

As the Grants and Sponsorship Officer, you’ll lead implementation of the process for the full lifecycle of external grants and sponsorships and you'll be the pulse of all grant and sponsorship activities within your assigned Therapeutic Areas (TAs). As well as being responsible for all TA related grants and sponsorship requests in Lectrona, your role involves auditing, reporting, and presenting summaries of these activities, all while driving process improvements to enhance customer experience.

You'll also lend your expertise to the Medical Education and Sponsorships GCO, aiding in process management and project coordination. This includes creating project documentation, providing platform support, and conducting training sessions.

Your deep understanding of the processes, regulations, and policies in Medical Education and Sponsorships will be crucial in assessing grant and sponsorship applications. Acting as the primary contact for these requests, you'll leverage your knowledge to ensure smooth and compliant operations.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • You will play a pivotal role in reviewing and determining the eligibility of grants and sponsorships, ensuring that we support only the highest quality activities with the greatest potential to enhance public health.

  • In addition, you will also be responsible for routing approval recommendations above set thresholds to the appropriate committees in a timely manner.

  • You will lead Therapeutic Area meetings, presenting recommended grants and sponsorships for approval, and providing your expertise in education and external funding.

  • As a problem solver, you will resolve escalated medical grant applicant issues, and triage when necessary.

  • You will examine our internal department quality standards through TA reviews, and bolster training and reinforcement of quality grant reviews.

  • You will monitor the quality and outcome measures of educational activities supported by Boehringer Ingelheim in your assigned TA(s), ensuring continuous improvement and high standards.

  • Working closely with the Global Capability Owner, Medical Education and Sponsorships, you will support the educational needs of the Boehringer Ingelheim Organization. This includes ensuring the development of content and delivery of engaging training presentations.

Requirements

  • We are seeking candidates with a master’s degree in business, Health Sciences, Health Technology Sciences, or Project Management. We also value equivalent work experience.

  • A strong background in Medical Affairs within a (R)OPU and/or Corporate setting is highly desirable.

  • If you've spent a few years in a Medical Education role, either in an agency or pharma, your expertise will be a valuable addition to our team.

  • Your fluency in English, both oral and written, will be key to your role. Additional language skills would be a significant asset, broadening our reach and understanding.

  • We value strong project and process management skills. Your experience leading project teams, developing business cases, plans, scope definitions, and presentations will be instrumental in driving our projects forward.

  • Your experience in change management, including communications, training, and support, network management, will help us navigate and implement necessary changes smoothly.

  • We appreciate individuals who can work independently and also thrive in a complex matrix organization. Your ability to adapt and contribute in various settings will be a great advantage.
