Title: Seasonal Yard/ Clean Up - Department: Herington Plant - Reports to: Yard Supervisor

Description Summary

Yard employees will focus on cleaning, organizing, loading, unloading, staging and put away in the most efficient manner possible. Heavy equipment operation may be part of this role and learning to identify products will be a critical skill. This will be a seasonal position that will end after a certain number of weeks. Employee will be notified in writing once the job nears its completion.

Must contribute to smooth operation on the yard by managing time effectively.

Must be able to work on your own and multi-task

Must adhere to all health and safety practice and procedures. .

Must work to be an excellent teammate exhibiting a willingness to help/train co-workers as needed.

Must work with pace and efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Carries out any additional duties as assigned by the plant management team. .

Minimum requirements

Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.

Must be willing and able to utilize (or learn to utilize) computer based and mechanical equipment in the workplace. .

Must work well within a team environment. Must be reliable and self-motivated.

Must be able to communicate effectively. The ability to speak both English and Spanish can help an employee advance in their profession.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must be on time and ready to work each and every workday unless prior arrangements with management have been made.

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Employees who have specialized skills may advance to new opportunities more quickly.

A history including general shop, welding, mechanical drawing, blueprint reading, physics/mathematics, via your education or

on-the-job training will prove helpful, but is not required.

Classification and Advancement

Level 1: Begins to master product type and basic machine operation. Learns yard layout. Shows up on time and completes tasks efficiently and per instruction.

Level 2: Contributes daily to enhance yard organization. Communicates regularly with inventory control and dispatch team members.

Level 3: Generates new ideas to improve productivity, availability and yard management.

Yard Lea d: Teaches others to model effective behavior and practices with a focus on a near perfect yard in line with company goals. Aspires to supervisory goals.
