Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a Project Controls Coordinator to join our team in Puerto Rico. As a key role within the Project Support team, Project Controls Coordinators provide essential financial and administrative support on a portfolio of projects ranging in size. The ideal candidates are self-starters looking to be part of dynamic and growing team offering significant opportunities for mentorship and growth. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the project’s contractual obligations and client specific requirements

  • Preparing project cost reports on a weekly basis and distributing to the project team

  • Providing support with project budgets and change orders.

  • Assisting with review, routing, and execution of client contracts and change orders.

  • Completing project setup form for new projects based on the client contract, budget, and work breakdown structure.

  • Reviewing project charges and coordinating corrections with accounting as needed to facilitate timely and accurate client invoicing, as directed by project manager.

  • Preparing various detailed project financial reports in Excel, as needed

  • Providing various financial and contract-related reporting to project team and clients

  • Supporting Finance Manager and Project Controls Leads with other duties as required.

  • Assisting Project Manager with follow up on past-due invoices as needed.

Qualifications

Your Qualifications and Credentials

  • Excellent communication, time-management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients, contractors, and staff at all levels.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically desired: advanced expertise in MS Excel)

  • Experience with ERP and other Financial/Cost systems (Oracle, etc.) is preferred.

  • Detail-oriented and resourceful, ability to learn new programs and concepts quickly.

  • Positive attitude with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Solid time management and follow-through skills to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to see the “big picture” and use common sense to make decisions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field, or equivalent experienceA minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in consulting or engineering

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
