Do you have a passion for working with children? We have a brand new career oopportunity. We\'re looking to grow our Behavioral Health team with the addition of this position.

Performs complete initial psychiatric assessments on patients to determine DSM IV diagnosis and develop a plan of care including medication prescription if indicated.

Provides timely documentation of each encounter with a patient including symptoms addressed, need for current treatment, and rationale for any changes in treatment.

Works in collaboration with other treatment team members to ensure quality of care and consideration of services. Refers to /consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems and concerns.

Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established EMR documentation practices.

Seeks immediate consultation with physician for the following:

• Emergent conditions requiring prompt medical intervention or hospitalization
• If diagnostic, prescriptive or therapeutic procedure /intervention cannot be performed by Nurse Practitioner.

Attends all team meetings, supervision, clinical hours and shares on call responsibilities assigned by BHA.

Attends a weekly review meeting with the Psychiatrist/or LPN as to the care and follow up of children and adolescents that need medical checks and/or monitoring of psychotropic medicine.

Provides follow up psychiatric care including monitoring of pharmacological modalities for assigned patients.

Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes. Tracks quality assurance data and monitors for acute and chronic care management.
