Job Summary and Qualifications

  1. Responds to incoming calls in a timely manner and directs caller to appropriate destination providing a smooth, clear and professionally courteous communication practice.

  2. Answer multiple incoming telephone lines.

  3. Obtains necessary information and transfers calls to correct extensions.

  4. Provides information to callers as appropriate.

  5. Performs overhead paging.

  6. Monitors all alarms located in PBX and notifies appropriate personnel as required.

  7. Responds quickly and accurately to disaster and emergency situations as required, remaining calm.

  8. Corrects and updates posted information as needed. Assists with the maintenance of directories on-call list, etc.

  9. Accurately utilizes the features of the PBX consoles, headsets, telephones and other related equipment.

  10. Assist with maintaining cleanliness, safety and security of the PBX area.

  11. Maintains confidentiality, security and integrity of patient and organizational data.

  12. Ensures release of information is consistent with all privacy policies.

  13. Orients and mentors new staff members.

What qualifications you will need:

Education: None

Licensure: None

Experience: Experience in customer service situations; Ability to fluently speak and understand English; Ability to perform calmly, competently and quickly in emergency situations; Ability to provide superior customer service;

Required Competencies: Orientation, training on PBX system, 10 hours working alongside another PBX operator
