Robert Half Staff Accountant in Flint, Michigan

Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our clients team in Flint, Michigan. This role is integral to the financial operations of our service-based industry, overseeing financial functions and managing fiscal affairs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape fiscal policies and procedures, generate financial reports, and participate in new account proposals. This is an on site role. (4 day work week)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage financial functions within a service-based company

• Manage the company's fiscal affairs, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and deposits

• Prepare budget documents as part of fiscal responsibility

• Formulate and implement fiscal policies and procedures for the company

• Generate ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports for President and CPA

• Approve company expenses prior to purchase and payment

• Participate in new account proposals, particularly in relation to budgeting and finance

• Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for office staff placement and development

• Direct accounting activities and provide guidance to Accounting Specialist

• Adapt to changing responsibilities based on the needs of the company.

Skills: QuickBooks, Month End Close, Financial Statement Preparation, Payroll.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must

• Demonstrated experience with Month End Close processes

• Proven ability in Financial Statement Preparation

• Experience in managing Payroll

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing duties

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
