Rate: $50-60hr

Must-Have Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience

• Experience with SolidWorks and CAD Engineering

• Knowledge of metrology or ability to work with external metrology company to characterize physical parts

• Documentation within PDM/PLM systems (SolidWorks PDM)

• Experience in developing products under FDA regulation

• Experience with Injection molded designed parts

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Mechanical design experience

• Experience with Ultrasonic technology

• Injection mold design experience

Job Description:

The Engineer plays a key role in coordinating and leading sustaining efforts and design modification to the diagnostics portfolio. This person will review the design (SolidWorks) for the analyzer and its parts, support documentation, design controls, and external interface with suppliers. This person will also be required to perform slight design modifications and work with external suppliers (mold houses/tool builders). This is a support engineering and sustaining engineering effort for the next 12 months with ongoing projects, where the company is expanding capacity and building more analyzers. The engineer will prepare CAD files and interface with suppliers directly. New pipeline of products will be added in the future.

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to concurrently handle multiple project assignments.

• Ability to coordinate and work with other engineering disciplines within the department (Software, Electrical, and Product Engineering)

• Thorough understanding of robust engineering methodologies and stage-gate development processes as well as manufacturing/procurement/quality processes.

• Demonstrated experience in critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills, decision-making, planning and organizing.

• Knowledge and practical application of current and emerging engineering science and cutting-edge technologies.

Work Environment:

This is an onsite job with a cubicle setting. The work hours are 8-5, and the person must be able to work off core hours since some team members are based in different time zones.

Business Challenge:

The position is open due to design ownership transferring to the company's R&D group. The organization currently doesn't have the resources available to support this effort.
