Jumeirah Group’s newest resort Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab will lead a new generation of Group’s ultra-luxury portfolio. About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director to join the Revenue Management team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

  • Supporting to set up the function and role during Pre-Opening phase.

  • Working closely between the Hotel and our Residences to support any operational needs

  • Contribute to the formulation and manage the implementation of inventory and pricing plans, based on sound commercial analysis and in line with the corporate revenue management strategy in order to ensure the effective achievement of the SBU’s revenue management targets.

  • Oversee the assessment and evaluation of the SBUs marketplace, competitive environment and guest preferences. Understand the macro and micro-economic variables affecting supply and demand in the local marketplace. Liaise with 3rd parties such as Local Tourism Authorities, STR and Travelclick and use this knowledge to support accurate forecasting.

  • Develop strong partnership with Director of Sales/Marketing to formulate and follow-up on the execution of long term and short term segmentation strategies and source market goals

  • Manage the optimization of the SBU’s product and services offerings (rooms, spa, catering, packages) and recommend adjustments to product offers and rates based on demand and seasonality.

  • Perform unconstrained demand analysis and determine optimal business mix for SBU with as aim to maximise overall market performance. Considering optimal and forecasted levels of business from each market segment, work with the Director of Sales/Marketing to direct the sales efforts accordingly

  • Support the SBU’s evaluation of opportunities for contracted business (group, wholesale, corporate negotiated, etc.), in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing department, in order to ensure that all deals are scrutinized for strategic intent and expected profitability.

  • Manage the implementation of system functions and corresponding interfaces related to the generation of rooms revenue (PMS, CRS, RMS, Sales and Catering system), and ensure that these systems are leveraged to their full capacity in order to enhance their return on investment.

  • Remain abreast of the emerging hospitality trends in terms of guest behaviour, preference and manage the regular benchmarking of local product offerings, pricing and ROI in order to ensure that the SBU continuously innovates and maintains its competitive advantage while improving profitability.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Revenue Management department providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of operations.

  • Be part of the weekly and monthly Revenue Strategy meetings in order to formulate and disseminate strategies and tactics. Ensure that prior decisions are re-visited in this forum in order to evaluate their effectiveness and promote learning.

  • Champion the Revenue Management discipline within the SBU, ensuring that all personnel directly involved in the generation of rooms revenue understand essential Revenue Management principles and concepts. Provide requisite training and development, contributing to the development of a Revenue Management culture within the Jumeirah Group.

  • Fully utilize the IDeaS RMS in relation to reporting and yielding capabilities and monitor the forecasting and resulting BAR recommendations closely. Ensure that range of rooms “products” distributed by SBU, including room types/classes, packages and promotions are scrutinized for strategic intent and rationality before reaching the marketplace. Continually monitor the effectiveness of all products and their application to particular market circumstances. Lead the revenue team in the revision of existing products and creation of new products accordingly.

  • Work with Director of Revenue Management and Regional/Corporate Revenue Management representatives to identify and capitalize on revenue generating opportunities for the market. Prepare for and lead property diagnostic sessions and standards audits as coordinated by the regional/corporate function.

  • Actively develop all subordinates, ensuring that they have opportunities to grow their Revenue Management and leadership skill base through personal attention, internal/external training and participation in industry events. Create a Revenue Management succession plan in order to sustain the viability of the discipline for the cluster. Perform annual performance reviews of all direct reports and assist them to create personal development plans for career growth. Recruit and retain colleagues that are intent on Revenue Management as a career path, who through development will become the future leaders of the discipline for the Jumeirah Group.

  • Consult with other SBU departments to ensure that Jumeirah Group standards pertaining to the optimization of revenues are not circumvented, such as procedures for the collection of no-show and cancellation charges, early departure fees, etc.

  • Ensure familiarity with and adherence to Jumeirah Group Revenue Management standards and guidelines throughout the SBU.

  • Perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of revenue management experience, preferably with an international hospitality company.

  • Strong property and revenue maximization experience. Recipe software knowledge

  • Good knowledge of commercial, consumer and product development trends and revenue generation channels.

  • Strong understanding of core hotel operations.

  • Good innovation and creativity skills as well as demand forecasting, pricing, and profitability optimization skills.

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
