Job Description :

Position Name: Executive – Manufacturing Unit Head (TMU) Level : L5-B Reports to: Head - Manufacturing Operations PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: This role is responsible for planning, leading, directing and controlling the day-to-day manufacturing operations of a single plant /distilleries including all aspects of finance, human resources, materials, production and process activities in the unit. The role focuses on achieving the Unit production targets, delivery schedules, quality & competitive output, turnover & cost reduction in line with the budget, compliance, excise, quality, EHS and other parameters and guidelines laid down by the organization and region. TYPICAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS Qualification: • BE/ B Tech; MBA (Operations Management)/ PGD in Alcohol Technology Experience: • 15+ yrs. experience in an engineering or FMCG or Alco-Bev company • Experience in material management for 4-5 yrs. Knowledge & skills: • Knowledge of alcohol-beverage business • Thorough Working Knowledge of Unit Operations/Operations Management, Trade Unions • Basic understanding of company laws • Knowledge of Statutory Compliances: Labour, Tax , Excise Regulations and related laws • Knowledge of cost effective inventory principles and management • Experience in Planning and Managing Warehouse Operations • Knowledge of standard safety practices and procedures relating to warehouse operations and equipment. Best suited for someone who • High level of professionalism, integrity and commitment • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with line personnel, public contacts, vendors and City department representatives. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY PERFORMANCE MEASURES (QUANTITATIVE / QUALITATIVE) 1 Planning, budgeting, delivery & quality of TMU factories © Diageo India Highly Confidential • Responsible for ensuring manufacturing standards of high quality, quantity and productivity set for all the TMU factories • Monitor and control budget, inventory, overheads, resources for the unit • Plan, implement & review the sourcing and capacity plan with high focus on cost effectiveness, high quality and improvement for all TMU factories • Set up, review and monitor quality goals with optimum quality costs in order to achieve planned quality levels * Plan, review & take measures for inventory control • Monitor and control raw material & work in progress inventory to maintain production plans • Monitor & control finished goods inventory within factory • Liaison between manufacturing and other functions/departments (Sales, HR, Legal, Finance, Quality, BCC, TC, Opex, Procurement etc.) to ensure zero downtime in daily operations • Engage with government bodies (Excise, Labour Commission etc.) to support achievement of organizational goals • Turnover • Delivery Reliability • Plan Vs Actual • Man-hours lost • Reduction in Quality defect ppm • Reduction in Inventory • Cost optimization • Quality Improvement % • Man-days lost 2 People • Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members • Ensure periodic follow-up with the recruitment team to fill the vacant positions with in stipulated time; in case of deviations escalate it to appropriate authority • Engage with the unit employees on change management actions • Plan Vs Actual • Adherence to timelines • Employee Engagement • Attrition
