SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL PERMITTING & COMPLIANCE CONSULTANT

to be located in the Milan Office

YOUR IMPACT:

Jacobs is looking for an experienced Environmental Permitting & Compliance Consultant, for the development of complex and exciting projects for a range of diverse client sectors, such as Industrial, Real Estate, Infrastructures, Energy, in Italy and abroad.

By joining Jacobs you’ll be able to develop and cover a key role, with the opportunity to coordinate the environmental permitting & compliance practice, working in a synergic cooperation with Jacobs engineering and other disciplines, with the following responsibilities:

  • Manage activities related to the development of whole life cycle of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) services, including scope development, budget and schedule preparation, subcontractor coordination, site visits, reporting

  • Develop environmental studies, including, but not limited to, EIA, ESHIA, VincA study, Landscape Assessment, also interacting with internal and external specialists

  • Implement environmental operating permit applications, including, but not limited to, AIA, AUA, and similar

  • Support our clients and the engineering team through the permitting process associated to the execution of projects, starting from data collection and evaluation, through the preparation of technical and administrative documentation and keeping relationship with the involved authorities, until obtainment of required permits

  • Conduct compliance audits and due diligence assessments

  • Communicate frequently, verbally and in writing, with a team of professionals, made of project managers, scientists, engineers, and planners to achieve our clients’ goals

  • Support the coordination, mentorship and growth of Jacobs EHS team and services

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental, Chemical or equivalent Engineering, or Environmental Sciences

  • 5 years of experience related to permitting & compliance projects, preferably for international clients

  • Good knowledge of EHS regulation and main sustainability/ ESG principles

  • Experience or ability to act as a Project Manager, handling project resourcing, controlling scope, schedule and budget from the proposal till the close out phase, will be highly regarded.

  • Expertise in H&S, Quality, Environmental & Energy Management Systems (including holding any related certification) is a plus

  • Proficiency in English and Italian languages; other language knowledge could be an asset

  • Ability to support multiple projects, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Mindset open to innovation, digitalization, visual communication
