UChicago STEM Education is a center devoted to research and development that resides within the Physical Sciences Division (PSD) of the University of Chicago. UChicago STEM Education continues the University of Chicago\'s long-standing commitment to improving precollege education and aims to support high quality instruction and learning for all students. Through the sharing of knowledge and the creation of useful products and programs, UChicago STEM Education seeks to make a positive difference for instruction throughout the nation.
UChicago Financial Education Initiative, part of UChicago STEM Education, seeks to empower all individuals to navigate the financial system with confidence, make informed and reasoned financial decisions throughout their lives, and realize long-term financial well-being. The Initiative was launched in July 2016 to develop the tools, resources, and capacity to spread robust financial education across the country. This includes the development and publication of tools for kids and families. The Initiative is regularly invited to conferences and educational events to share their unique approach to financial education.
Job Summary
Join a fast-paced and innovative team that is developing a world-class elementary financial education curriculum for students in Hong Kong. Develop tools and processes to help elementary teachers enact this curriculum with their students.
The Teaching Analyst will assist the team with various aspects of curriculum development. In this entry-level role, the Teaching Analyst will research and help prepare elements of lesson plans and other materials. The Teaching Analyst will participate in team meetings and individual planning meetings.
Responsibilities
- Will assist a team with various aspects of curriculum development
- Prepare elements of lesson plans and other materials
- Participate in staff meetings and individual planning meetings
- May help staff to plan and execute events
- Responsible for researching contexts
- Works collaboratively on a distributed team, takes direction, and meets tight deadlines
- Prepares lesson plans, course outlines, and assignments
- May help staff to plan and execute events
- Performs other related work as needed
