UChicago STEM Education is a center devoted to research and development that resides within the Physical Sciences Division (PSD) of the University of Chicago. UChicago STEM Education continues the University of Chicago\'s long-standing commitment to improving precollege education and aims to support high quality instruction and learning for all students. Through the sharing of knowledge and the creation of useful products and programs, UChicago STEM Education seeks to make a positive difference for instruction throughout the nation.

UChicago Financial Education Initiative, part of UChicago STEM Education, seeks to empower all individuals to navigate the financial system with confidence, make informed and reasoned financial decisions throughout their lives, and realize long-term financial well-being. The Initiative was launched in July 2016 to develop the tools, resources, and capacity to spread robust financial education across the country. This includes the development and publication of tools for kids and families. The Initiative is regularly invited to conferences and educational events to share their unique approach to financial education.

Job Summary

Join a fast-paced and innovative team that is developing a world-class elementary financial literacy curriculum for students in Hong Kong, focusing on content, assessment, and differentiation. Help develop tools and processes-including supports-to help elementary teachers enact this curriculum with their students in schools.

The School Development Senior Analyst will assist with the development of an elementary school program. Will review research and develop curriculum, models, and best practices in the field of education. May assist in the implementation of professional development workshops for teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in the development of an elementary school program
  • Review research and develop curriculum, models, and best practices in the field of education
  • Support the implementation of professional development workshops for teachers
  • Assists with the development of primary school programs
  • Assists with the development for primary and secondary school programs. Requires a deep understanding of the field of primary and secondary school education
  • Plays a role in program evaluation and improvement efforts
  • Performs other related work as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of instructional methodologies
  • Some experience authoring curricula, lesson plans, and assessment tools
  • Experience teaching K-8
  • Some experience developing and delivering K-8 materials

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with standard word processing programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Docs)
