Work Schedule: 8 Hr (9:00:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM)

Summary:

The Instructional Designer/Training and Development Specialist performs a full range of professional duties including: instructional design—creating, deploying and delivering soft-skill and technical curriculum (courses, content, and materials), and provides ongoing systems support and systems strategy support to provide optimal learning management platform utilization to support business operations of the Learning and Development Department.

They collaborate with Learning and Development team members to design, manage and facilitate ongoing learning programs. This includes assisting in defining the key program audiences, managing program recruitment, tying organizational metrics to training program goals, analyzing attendance data and content usage to determine organizational impact and reach, and collaborates with team on implementing special programs and requests. This person manages the day-to-day operation of the Learning Management System (LMS) related to training administration for Learning and Development. The successful candidate oversees the Learning and Development training calendar.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or other related area.

• Seven (7) years of experience in education or learning and development.

• Familiarity with adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies.

• Experience in the areas of instructional design techniques, computer-based education and alternative instructional delivery methods required; commitment to keeping abreast of the latest instructional design trends and practices.

• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Learning Management Systems

• Demonstrated success in curriculum design and development. Prefer e-learning knowledge and experience.

• Record of significant experience in course or curriculum design.

• Knowledge of Microsoft office products and survey tools (i.e. Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc.).

• Experience in instructional design and delivery, both in-class and online (Webex, Zoom).

• Experience with eLearning development tools (Captivate and Articulate).

• Excellent technology, project management, program management, and time management.

• Experience in training assessment and evaluation planning.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong organization and attention to detail.

• Ability to influence and work with employees and leaders from all levels of the organization.

• Proven success in holding people accountable as well as building relationships with customers and internal clients.

• Has a systems thinking, innovative approach, and looks for continuous improvement opportunities.

• Ability to think creatively as well as analytically in order to troubleshoot/problem solve

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Knowledge of learning design and technology including video design and e-learning design/development (Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, etc.).

• Experience in a large or multi-campus organization strongly preferred.

• Additional training or certification in adult learning, education, instructional design or human performance improvement preferred.

• Facilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

1.• Assist the Manager of Learning and Development as needed and work in collaboration with the SMEs, HR Partners, Organizational Effectiveness and other HR COEs.

• Responsible for needs analysis, end-to-end design, development, implementation and sustaining a portfolio of learning and development programs.

• Develops and facilitates engaging soft skills learning content that fulfill learning objectives, for eLearning, webinar or classroom delivery. This includes: job aids, workbooks, video walk through and other training materials.

• Program manages assigned learning programs.

• Manages learning and development course calendar.

• Collaborates with learning and development team to develop and curate learning content and programming in response to defined training needs.

• Leads efforts to improve programmatic quality; including the development and implementation of evaluation and training analysis reports.

• Collects, compiles and analyzes data to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of learning programs.

• Assists and leads in the facilitation of ongoing training programs.

• Participates in continuing education to maintain and update understanding of and knowledge about instructional technologies.

• Leads configuration and usage of Learning Management System for content deployment, delivery and reporting for the Learning and Development Department’s programs.

• Design and facilitate effective learning interventions to foster engagement, development and achievement of strategic outcomes. This involves overseeing program development for employees by assessing needs developing and facilitating content, managing vendors, and evaluating program effectiveness.
