Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for leading a team responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic initiatives with the Tech Ops organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our employees and aircraft while striving for ‘Safety First. Service Always’. This position is also tasked with seeking opportunities to optimize costs and improve our competitive position in the market as the airline and the technical operations organization evolves.

Strategic Planning & Innovation

  • Evaluate long-term technical operations strategies and key initiatives to ensure alignment with the airline's overall business objectives.

  • This includes identifying opportunities for growth, cost reduction, consistency, and innovation in addition to risk identification and mitigation planning.

Stakeholder Alignment

  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments, including Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, HR, Finance, Corporate Real Estate, and executive leadership team to ensure alignment and support across the organization.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to help them reach their full potential and excel in their careers at United.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent experience in Aviation management, engineering, finance, supply chain, or a related field

  • Airline operations experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience (Technical Operations Preferred)

  • 5+ years of team leadership experience

  • Strong visionary leadership, planning and communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, organizational management, defining accountability structure, identifying improvement opportunities, influencing, and managing change.

  • Solid history of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and driving results

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master’s degree in related field.

  • Technical Operations Leadership experience

  • 3+ years’ experience leading / collaborating on large scale growth initiatives.

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics or process improvement
