Job Description:

The Commercial Banking Training Specialists is responsible for analyzing, evaluating and repurposing existing training and performance improvement solutions that align with CIBC business partner strategies and needs. The role applies proficient knowledge to recommend training solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts, providing regular project updates to leverage existing learning content. The Commercial Banking Training Specialist exercises independent judgement within defined procedures to recommend new learning solutions that minimize future maintenance requirements and duplication of effort. The role exercises considerable latitude to create detailed instructional design plans and storyboards that develop training materials based on solid instructional design standards and best practices. The role applies professional analytical and communication skills to contribute to the regular review and update of style guides and training process standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Credit Pool including assignment of transactions, monitoring of deal flow, loan presentation review, create and review of performance metrics.

  • Provide guidance to the analysts in all aspects of Loan Presentation creation including credit questions, loan policy, systems, and process.

  • Provide consistent feedback to all analysts and help build high energy, team approach to the entire program.

  • Act as a support trainer for the CBTP and other bank-wide training efforts. The primary function, on an as needed basis, will be to support the team in all aspects of training execution including planning, delivery of classroom material, scheduling of guest speakers, and coordinating logistics for training sessions.

  • Work with recruiting team to execute the comprehensive recruiting process surrounding the Commercial Banking Training Program and Commercial Banking Internships.

  • Consistently present and promote CBTP to all LOBs to ensure institutional knowledge of our strategic mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in banking

  • College Degree required. Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred.

  • Experience in underwriting, and portfolio management.

  • Completion of formal Credit Training

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with advanced knowledge financial analysis and modeling.
