JOB SUMMARY

This role is responsible for ensuring that the provision of DCS Information Technology services are delivered successfully in accordance with client standards. This role will lead the DCS IT team, providing staff with development and mentorship, and ensuring that resources allow for successful completion of all required activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise team and all associated operations for assigned Data Center(s). Lead performance and development of assigned team. Duties include recruiting, training and development, retention, and performance reviews. Liaise with various customer DCS IT teams to deliver standardized services, and organize front line support for all day-to-day operations and minor projects.

Coordinate delivery and operation of technology infrastructure (hardware and cabling) to documented strategy, standards, industry specifications (e.g., BICSI), schedule, quality, and customer expectations.

Create strong relationships with customers and identify opportunities to provide them with additional capabilities. Maintain external partner/vendor relationships to support account activities. May participate in contract development with partners/vendors.

Attend internal and customer meetings to discuss future work requests. Plan and implement all activities that will fulfill the requirements set by the client/account.

Ensure that all staff follow established health and safety guidelines and practices (e.g. use of PPE during job activities.) Participate in all HSE-related programs & activities as required, including: incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessments.

Provide input in budget and financial management activities. Provide quotes for new, enhanced services as required. Also, participate in technology provisioning forums, and review industry standards for white space planning to improve time to market, quality, consistency, and accuracy.

Conduct quarterly townhall meetings. Also, attend weekly meetings with the Contract manager and Project Manager to discuss any large-scale extra work or additional labor requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.

Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree required, Bachelors Degree preferred. 4-6 years of experience in computer science, Management Information Systems, business management or a related field.

Technology background, with emphasis on infrastructure services.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.

Ability to effectively present information to team, senior leadership, and customers.

Advanced understanding of data center audit requirements, such as ISO9001, ISO27001 and SOC2. Advanced understanding of cabling best practices (EIA/TIA-568 standards). Working knowledge of IT server hardware, network cabling diagnostics and testing practices.

Good understanding of LAN/WAN/Telephony concepts such as TCIP, switches, routers and vLANs. Good working knowledge of the concepts of electrical theory with respect to hardware installation such as single-phase, three-phase, amperage and receptacle types.

Strong bias toward customer service and improving overall customer experience. Developed business acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to build relationships and influence others at multiple levels of an organization.

Results oriented with proven ability to mobilize and energize individual and teams to implement creative solutions that meet over-arching organizational goals.

Ability to learn new technologies with an interest in expanding and applying knowledge as opportunities emerge.

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
