Robert Half Grants Financial Officer (NIH required) - REMOTE CONSIDERED! in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description

Our client, a well-established institution in higher education is currently searching for a Grants Financial Officer to join their team in the Boston area. This role offers the flexibility to work 3 days a week in the office (actual days negotiable).

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Advise and educate on all aspects of research administration including policies and federal regulations.

• Perform complex pre- and post-award sponsored research administration.

• Provide advice and support on all matters pertaining to financial management of the assigned portfolio.

• Ensure compliance with grants and contracts.

• Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, forms, and reports.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3-5 years of direct/related financial/accounting experience.

• Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Self-motivation and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proficiency with SAP, Cognos, Brio, and Excel (or similar accounting software or financial portals).

• Ability to learn changing technologies related to grants and contract management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of federal guidelines.

• Experience in financial administration in a university/hospital/nonprofit organization and with COEUS or other grants management systems.

• Knowledge of Uniform Guidance, NIH, and other federal sponsor policies.

• Experience at an institute similar to MIT and familiarity with its finance and research administration policies.

The successful candidate must have experience with NIH, faculty support, and strong compliance expertise. A background from a higher education or research-oriented hospital is preferred.
