Fairview Health Services Patient Care Supervisor - Medical Cardiac IMC Unit in Burnsville, Minnesota

Overview

M Health Fairview is looking for a Patient Care Supervisor to help lead the Medical/Surgical Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. Our knowledgeable staff provide excellent patient and family centered care, shown through top rated patient satisfaction scores. Supported by a Nurse Manager; the team includes RNs, Nursing Assistants/Nursing Station Technicians, cardiac Monitor Technicians and support from our practice and education department.

About out unit and patient populations:

  • 39 beds

  • Cardiac medical

  • Post-cardiac procedural

  • General medical

  • Intermediate Care: Acute respiratory (Bipap, High-flow), Cardiac (Hypertension, Congestive Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, Sepsis), IV Infusions (Nitroglycerin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Insulin, etc.)

This benefit eligible position is exempt/salaried working 80 hours in a 2 week period, Monday through Friday. This position would require working day, evening and night shift hours to support the team. The PCS would have on-call duties to support staff on all shifts.

Responsibilities Job Description

Job Expectations:

  • Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.

  • Plans, handles, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.

  • Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.

  • Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.

In addition, the PCS:

  • Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.

  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

  • Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.

  • Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.

  • In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/standard process clinical care is being delivered.

  • Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.

  • Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.

  • Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.

Qualifications

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Master’s degree is in nursing or healthcare, Bachelor’s degree in other area of study will be accepted.

Experience

· Two years nursing experience, at least one of which in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role. Knowledge of patient population served in area of responsibility.

License/Certification/Registration

· Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.

· BLS certification

Preferred

Education

· Master’s degree in nursing, health care administration, business administration or related field.

Experience

License/Certification/Registration

· ANCC or AONL Certification
