Boehringer Ingelheim IT GFS Legal Intern in Buenos Aires, Argentina

The position

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Information Technology department located at our Buenos Aires facility. As an Intern, you will support a global organization by assisting in context of digital forensic and investigation related processes. Functional mentoring will be conducted through a combined mentorship, locally in Argentina as well as remotely from Germany.

Tasks and responsabilities

  • The primary focus of the candidate will be to assist with automatization activities in relation to investigation technologies, concepts and processes. Tasks are chosen based on the individuals’ profile so that the candidate will gain experience with fundamentals of digital forensics and investigations but also able to develop and enhance their core skills in relation to scripting and automatization. Example activities can include but are not limited to:
  1. Automatization of Forensic Analysis: Extension of existing scripts as well as the development of new ones to support analysis and automatization of typical use cases, specifically in context of parsing and transforming structured data such as log files.

  2. Familiarization with the underlaying data through active testing and reproduction of test data.

  3. Process Improvements: Review and exercising of existing process documentations to provide and implement ideas for automatization of repetitive tasks.

  4. Visualization & Reporting: Support in the creation and improvement of data visualizations and creation of statistics to ensure repeatable reporting.

  5. Native Scripting Support in Forensic Toolset: Assess available forensic toolsets in regards to available native scripting interfaces (e. g. Python, EnScript, …) and build up an internal knowledge database.

  6. Test & develop potential use cases based on ongoing request needs

  7. Coding & Design Best Practices: Support in building up internal Coding & Design best practices with peers to ensure a standardized development process for scripts and future developments.

  • The candidate will be able to test and utilize state of the art toolsets used in forensic investigations and gain hands-on-experience in how forensic processes are built up within a large organization and how repetitive processes can be automized in such a context.

  • The ideal candidate will have a desire to develop analytical, project management and investigation skills within the legal/IT framework and the will to work in an international environment.

Requirements

  • Basic Knowledge about Windows & IT Infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with standard office tools such as Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Practical Experience with Python.

  • Practical Experience with Visualization (e. g. PowerBI).

  • Practical Experience with SQL.

  • Basic knowledge in the usage of git and IDEs (e. g. PyCharm).

  • Intermediate excel skills.

  • Verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Attention to details and self-critical view on work products.

  • Strong documentation skills.

  • Strong teamwork and positive work ethic.

  • Pursuing degree in Computer Science, Information Security, and/or Forensics related fields.
