The Business Analyst is a crucial role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery. The analyst builds relationships with business process owners to thoroughly understand the business strategies and problems and identify opportunities for improvements. The analyst reviews, analyzes and evaluates business processes, systems, and user needs and collaborates with all stakeholders, including Business and Development, in order to recommend system and business process modifications to support business strategies through purchased and/or in-house developed software.

As a Business Analyst , you will work with the business to identify and prioritize the underlying business needs and requirements, work with development managers and team to ensure business requirements and priorities are understood and high-quality solutions are provided, and project managers to help identify and mitigate project risks.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating new automated processes and databases, working with the business owner to streamline activities.

  • Troubleshooting existing processes and databases to work out bugs.

  • Enhancing current processes and databases to incorporate additional needs as they arise.

  • Utilizing statistical, economic, and financial principles and techniques to prepare reports.

  • Evaluating operational techniques, budgets, programs, and practices to ensure maximum economic operation.

  • Interpreting data concerning financial trends and economic and business forecasts.

  • Preparing monthly journal entries.

  • Compiling and analyzing statistical data.

  • Managing multiple on-going projects and preparing presentations of findings and recommendations.

  • Maintaining proper working order and integrity of databases.

  • Documenting processes.

  • Testing queries and software updates.

  • Providing pre- and post-implementation support of applications.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree, in Finance/Accounting or technology related field

  • 1+ year Business Analyst experience in financial or technical fields required

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Access

  • Finance/Accounting knowledge is helpful
