About you:

As a Solution Architect you are responsible for defining commercially aware and technically astute solutions that both align to and inform architectural direction while balancing the typical constraints evident on project delivery. Your role is embedded within the Cigna International Health Architecture function that works collaboratively with senior stakeholders to define strategic direction, thereafter, ensuring that intent is reflected in business solutions. You will be comfortable leading and defining effective business solutions within a complex, international organisation, demonstrating the maturity to build strong working relationships across Business, Technology and 3rd Party stakeholders.

Specifically, you will have:

  • At least 10 years of Technology experience and 4 years in a Solution Architecture or Lead Technical Design role.

  • Breadth of experience and technical acumen across applications, data, infrastructure, security, service management, business process, architecture capabilities, etc.

  • Commercial awareness incorporating financial planning, budgeting, etc.

  • A track record of working successfully in a globally dispersed team would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

This role reports to the International Health Architecture Director and is critical in driving operational effectiveness, efficiency gains and improvements in our International Health Delivery Services (IHDS) landscape, all of which will support our commitment to value driven delivery, customer centricity and the organization mission which is to improve the health, well-being, and peace of mind of those we serve by making health care simple, affordable, and predictable.

As an enterprise-focused Solution Architect within International Health you will be expected to undertake the following activities:

  • Drive the definition of the solution design, working through business and technical requirements to describe a holistic view of a target service that meets both business and operational expectations.

  • Deliver that solution design through an active collaboration with SMEs and peers and with full consideration of strategic roadmaps impacting key assets within the technical landscape.

  • Proactively engage across Business, Technology and 3rd Party stakeholders to ensure that the business investment delivers an appropriate and cost-effective outcome.

  • Actively participate in the full delivery lifecycle from early shaping of high-level estimates and delivery plans through to active governance of the solution in development and build phases.

  • Collaborate in weekly collaboration and governance sessions, sharing and learning with peers through the review of Solution Architecture deliverables.

  • Support the evolution and visibility of strategic roadmaps, helping to ensure the architecture direction is robust, understood and is an influential asset for all delivery work.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping to modernize and simplify our technology landscape through the promotion of innovative, digital solutions.

  • Maintain an active awareness of emerging trends and developments in technology that could impact or benefit our business and our customers.

  • Take a lead role in the selection of new products and applications, developing successful partner relationships where required.

  • Capture and manage risks, issues and assumptions identified through the lifecycle, articulating the financial and other impacts associated with these concerns.

  • Assist sponsors in the creation of rounded and compelling business cases.

  • Offer high-level mentoring of design & development teams to embed architectural framework and best practices.
